Caring for the Carer
Being a full-time carer of an older person, or an adult with complex health needs, can be both challenging and rewarding. There may be times when you need to take a rest from this role but you may be worried about whether your loved one will receive the same level of care that you give each and every day.
With Honeydew Healthcare, you can rest assured that our team of fully trained Carers will step in and give you the chance to have a well-earned rest – knowing that the high standards of care that you provide will be maintained.
People require respite care for different reasons; here are just a few of the ways in which we can help…
- Respite care for a few hours a day if you need to go out.
- Overnight care to help out if extra support is required.
- Respite care for longer periods allowing you to go on holiday.
- Emergency respite care if you take ill or need to go away at short notice.
If you are a carer and want to consider respite care options then you should get in touch with us. One of our supervisors will meet with you to fully understand the needs of the person you care for. Once the assessment has been carried out, we can assign a member of our team who will be able to offer the most appropriate level of care.
Families requiring respite care on a regular basis often request the same Carer each time: this helps the Carer to get to know the family, and fully understand their needs / interests. Our staff range from health care support workers who offer personal care to fully trained nurses.
We take pride in ensuring that there is minimum disruption to the daily routine of your loved one, and that all routines are adhered to and individual preferences taken into consideration.
